People are taking to the streets to protest President-elect Donald Trump. What started as a peaceful protest is turning into a major catastrophe, with people burning flags in front of Trump Tower and people fighting over him. It started with signs saying “Love Trumps Hate” and people marching in front of Trump Tower. One of the biggest moments in this protest movement was the American Music Award performance by the band Green Day. In the middle of their new song “Bang Bang,” they chanted “No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA.” Sophomore Madison Sossa talked about the protest saying, “They shouldn’t have done it because it isn’t going to change anything.” After the performance, Green Day was greeted by a standing ovation.  Green Day’s new CD “Revolution Radio” is all a protest about everything going on in America. Protests are also coming in a more direct way. Vice President-elect Mike Pence was at the play Hamilton when the entire cast came up and told him how they feel to get their message across.” Junior Tyler Stage said, “I do not agree with it, but they have the right to say it.” People are wondering if these protests would happen if Hillary Clinton had become the President-elect. Teacher Philip Trowbridge said, “No, I think Trump supporters would be mad, but not rioting.”
