This past weekend the much anticipated musical Into the Woods opened on the Barnesville High School stage. The question is, how did it go? Emily Briss, a senior at Fargo South High School, commented, “It was interesting to see how much you guys can do with what you have, compared to schools in the city.” Briss attended the Saturday show, and from the comments she made, she seemed to enjoy it. The process of putting together a show takes weeks, for cast members, sometimes a few months, but the reward is great. Mrs. Gylland said, “This is definitely the strongest musical I have been a part of in the last four years.”

So what happens when the curtain closes on a show? Freshman Logan Wenzel said, “Once all of the shows have finished, we set a time to strike. Which basically means we tear down the sets, log in the costumes, store props, and clean the stage.”

It takes a lot of time and effort to do an entire weekend of musical performances; now that the shows are over, the cast and crew can relax and recuperate, until the next time the curtain opens.
