Now that it is a new year everyone can look back on 2017’s moments. So much can happen in 365 days. It’s filled with good and bad times. These little moments will define someone’s year as good or bad. So, how was 2017 for students and teachers in Barnesville High School? Senior Jaci Neels said, “Getting my job at the nursing home was a good part of my year.” For her, the year was mostly full of new things, “It was fine, I learned a lot, and new opportunities came around.” On the other hand, senior Elizabeth Gerner mentioned that 2018 will be the year to bring more experiences, “I look forward to traveling, going to a few concerts, starting a new chapter of my life at NDSU in the fall, nothing but good things to say about 2018 coming up.” For this year’s seniors, 2018 is huge. Graduation and college life will be something completely new for them. Some are ready and look forward to it, and some are dreading it. But for teachers, this year will not have much change from last year. So how was 2017 in an adult’s perspective? Librarian Susan Duval commented, “My family was healthy and nothing bad happened, so I am thankful.” Duval said the one thing to make this year better is to “travel and camp more.” Otherwise 2018 just brings on another school year for her. No one’s opinion on 2017 was the same, but most said that is was okay how it was. That being said, no one really said it was spectacular either. Maybe 2018 will be the remarkable year for Barnesville students and teachers.
