Are Barnesville’s sports teams getting new uniforms when they should? Of course the sports teams get new jerseys every so often, but do people know how often the teams actually get new jerseys? Barnesville’s head football coach Mr. Strand said that, “Each team has a five year rotation” on when they get new jerseys. The volleyball team got new jerseys this year, and they are on a five year rotation as well. The football team’s rotation on new uniforms is different than other sports. According to Mr. Strand, “Football tries to go every seven years because there are so many jerseys for every player.” Senior Chase Brenner said, “The football team got new home jerseys two years ago and got new away jerseys in the season of 2012.” Once varsity gets new uniforms, the jerseys then get passed down to JV and C team and so on. Also, the girls and boys Track and Field team, softball team, and baseball team haven’t received new uniforms since 2013. Knowing this, these teams should be getting new uniforms in the spring. The baseball team has already received their new uniforms for their season. Since football got new jerseys last year, this is now getting pushed back. Along with the track and field team getting new uniforms, the girls softball team is due for new uniforms in the spring as well, so the 2020 baseball, softball, and track season may look different than it did last year. People say that the rotations on jerseys are unfair, but overall the rotations are indeed fair.
