This year’s fall harvest was successful for most farmers. Tim Lewis, father of Owen and Wylie Lewis, provided some insight on this year’s harvest. When Tim was asked about how long he has been a farmer, he said, “I grew up on a farm” and “have been farming all my life,” so he isn’t new to the farming world. He said he prepared for harvest making sure maintenance was done on all equipment, along with getting help lined up. He usually finds help each year. He said that his favorite part about harvest is getting the work done. His jobs during harvest are driving truck, fixing equipment, and also packing the silage pile. After harvest he usually washes his equipment and gets it ready for storage. Harvest is important to him because it is part of his life and it needs to get done.
