Students around Barnesville High may have noticed the inspirational quotes that have been placed around the school. They are there for students to read to pick themselves up, but to also lift the spirits of others. People are probably wondering who have been placing these posters around the school, and that groups of people are the students involved in PaY. This doesn’t come as a surprise to anyone as PaY is always doing things like this. Holly Inniger, who is in charge of the PaY program, said the group is “trying to focus on bullying, and show that kids matter.”  They are trying to promote kindness and positivity around the school. Earlier this year they had “Smile Cards” where students would take a selfie with one another and then pass the card on to the next person to spread the kindness.  When students read the inspirational signs, Co- President Elora Passa believes “It makes them stop and think about their actions.” Co- President Nicole Mulcahy agrees by saying, “When they read it, it gets them in a better mood.” Students around the school have noticed these signs and have tried to do something to help each other. Some, on the other hand, walk right past them and don’t know they are there or are so focused on their next class that they don’t have a chance to read them. Please stop and read them as you are stroll through the halls and do something to help others. Sophomore Sidney Ahles believes to help spread the positivity you should “think of other people even if you are tired.” When students look at each other, most are too tired to care to do something, but please step up to do something because it could make a person’s day. There are also little things that could be done throughout the day like  complimenting them, as Junior Josie Schaefer suggests. Next time you see someone, do something to make their day!
