Have you seen Santa’s little red helper? A new tradition created in 2005, the elf on the shelf took the world by storm. The Elf on the Shelf was created by the name of Carol Aebersold and illustrated by Coë Steinwart. The book tells a story about the elf coming from Santa’s workshop to a family’s home. You might have seen funny posts on Facebook about the elf doing funky things. The purpose of the elf is to show kids that Santa is watching them so they better behave. “The elf reports to Santa every night so it reminds them to behave“ Missie Goheen said. She has been using Elf on the Shelf for the past four years now. Her elf has done some pretty crazy stuff, like destroying their house, and he broke the Tooth Fairy’s wing. The Elf on the Shelf is a fresh new tradition for the new century.
