Wrestling is a big sport in Barnesville, including for seniors Jackson Poepping and Tim Boone. They both have been wrestling varsity for a few years now and have made some great accomplishments. Poepping just recently got his 60th win in Casselton, North Dakota, and was very happy. Boone got his 50th win and his 25th pin. They were both very happy to have come this far. Both seniors are enjoying their senior year, but Poepping stated that conditioning is the worst part of wrestling: “You have to be more conditioned than any other sport.” Boone’s goal for this year is to “get as many wins as possible for my senior year.” Boone also said that this year is different from the past because he is a senior and lots of people are watching him. Poepping is trying to make it to the Excel Energy Center in Minneapolis to the State Championship. Boone and Poepping are both hoping to make it as far as possible for their senior year to make it something to remember.
